Find the cause before you buy a course
Most people who walk in asking for PRP have already decided what they need. A fair number of them do not need it.
Hair fall has different causes, and they do not share a treatment. Spending ₹60,000 on injections for shedding that would have stopped on its own in four months is the most common mistake we see — so the first appointment is an assessment, not a sale.

Telogen effluvium is a temporary disturbance of the hair cycle and typically appears two to three months after the trigger (DermNet). Female pattern hair loss, by contrast, is gradual and progressive (DermNet). They look similar in the shower drain and need opposite advice.
What the treatments are
PRP (platelet-rich plasma). A small sample of your blood is spun to concentrate the platelets, which are then injected into thinning areas. Platelets release growth factors that support struggling follicles.
GFC (growth factor concentrate). The same starting point, processed further so the growth factors are already released and concentrated, with fewer red and white cells in the final product. Generally less soreness afterwards. ₹12,500 a session.
QR678. A growth-factor-based injectable formulation delivered as a course. Suitability is assessed at consultation.
AHL infusion. Growth factors, peptides and vitamins delivered to the scalp with micro-needling. Suits early thinning and scalp health.
All four are non-surgical and done in clinic, 30–45 minutes, with most people returning to their day immediately.
Where these treatments genuinely help — and where they don’t
They help thinning hair where follicles are miniaturised but still alive: early to moderate pattern hair loss, and slow recovery after shedding.
They do not help scalp that is already smooth and bald. There are no follicles left to stimulate, and that is a hair-transplant conversation, not an injection one. We will tell you that rather than sell you a course.
They are not needed for telogen effluvium, breakage, or seasonal shedding.
A realistic timeline
- Month 1–2: nothing visible. Some people notice slightly more shedding early on as the cycle resets.
- Month 2–3: hair fall reduces. This is usually the first thing people notice.
- Month 4–6: visible density, finer hairs thickening.
- After the course: maintenance sessions a few times a year. Pattern hair loss is progressive, so stopping everything means gradually returning to baseline.
What to bring to your first visit
Any recent blood reports (thyroid, ferritin, vitamin D, B12), a list of medications, and an honest timeline — when it started and what happened two to three months before that. It often answers the question on its own.

What is the difference between GFC and PRP for hair?
Both start with a small sample of your own blood. PRP injects platelet-rich plasma, and the platelets release growth factors once in the scalp. GFC processes the sample further so the growth factors are already released and concentrated, with fewer other cells. GFC is generally more comfortable afterwards; which suits you depends on your pattern of loss.
Does PRP work for hair loss?
It can help thinning hair where follicles are still alive — typically early to moderate pattern hair loss. It does not regrow hair on scalp that is already smooth and bald, because there are no follicles left to stimulate. That is why assessment comes first, and why we sometimes advise against it.
How many sessions of PRP or GFC are needed?
Most plans are four to six sessions roughly a month apart, then maintenance a few times a year. Reduced hair fall is usually the first change at two to three months, with visible density from around month four. Results vary between individuals.
Why am I suddenly losing so much hair?
Sudden, diffuse shedding is usually telogen effluvium — a temporary shift in the hair cycle two to three months after a trigger such as illness, fever, childbirth, crash dieting, surgery or major stress. It often settles on its own once the trigger is addressed, and it does not need PRP.
Are these hair treatments surgical?
